Taccia Hyakko-Hisho Kiwami Seiheki is a fountain pen made with the traditional “Wajima” lacquer technique. Ebonite body with cigar shape design and 18K gold nib made by Sailor. The Hyakko-Hisho collection from Taccia embodies both the beauty and the history of the Wajima lacquer, one of the Japanese traditional cultures.
In the 17th century, Tsunanori Maeda, the feudal lord of the Kaga Domain, collected a series of historically important craftsmanship techniques now referred to as Hyakko-Hisho.
To honor the artwork and creativity of this original period, Taccia created the Hyakko-Hisho Limited Edition Collection to pay homage to the history and tradition of this celebrated period.
Each fountain pen is made by hand in the Taccia Urushi studio in Wajima, enhancing traditional inlay techniques with precious metals and lacquer.
To blend the old with the new, each fountain pen comes fitted with a Japanese 18K gold nib, over a selection of individually polished ebonite barrels. To truly bring historical craftsmanship into your hand, each series is limited and signed by a Taccia maki-e artisan. Each pen is limited to 100 pieces worldwide. All Urushi pens are sensitive to sunlight and should not be exposed to sun for a prolonged time. Kindly refer the instruction manual sent along with the pen to take care of your precious Urushi pens. Taccia Fountain pens are available in India at Makoba at best international prices.
